I'm basically a know nothing about LED flashlights. I was wondering if this is essentially the same LED as the Task Force one in that other thread.
Can anybody shed some light, anybody already have one?

It appears on the surface to be a decent deal if it's the same. What do you experts say?

3-watt Luxeons are obsolete. Cree, Seoul and Rebel emitters are much more efficient. Get a light based on one of those instead.

Which Task Force are you referring to?

And yes, for that price you could get a brighter light with batteries. I would select the WF-600(or the cheaper WF-400) with 2 18650 batteries and a charger, total is around $44 and it uses a LED that is double the efficiency of the Luxeon III.

For the same amount of power, the newer LEDs produce twice or more output the the previous LEDs.
