I remember reading somewhere a few months ago, but I can't remember where, that a company was developing an incandescent lamp for the A2 which would work the same but be much brighter.

Anyone know anything about this? Or was it just a dream?

Quite possibly a dream. :p The only people that mite do it first is Lumens Factory. I guess due to the A2 being regulated not many people have attempted to make a bulb.

I don't know if you can get anything from it without trying to overdrive a slightly lower voltage bulb. Somebody made a replacement bulb holder that used a Streamlight Strion (not sure about this either) bulb that ran at 3.6V typically, but was overdriven at 4V the A2 puts out.

Because of the regulation, you can't just drop in a higher draw bulb of the same voltage (like Lumesfactory does) to get more light.
