Just saw this on DX. R1 really out already? anyone ordered one yet? I'm tempted to get one because out of the 3 versions of this light, I've yet to pull the trigger.

R1 is the title for the flashlight (similar to Ultrafire C2, C1, etc), not the bin number of the LED. Most likely that light, or any other on DX, is using a P4-bin unless otherwise specified (there are others using Q2s and Q5s)

I wonder how many people ordered one of those thinking it was an R1-bin Cree, which doesn't exist, only to get a P4.

looks like they corrected the name. it was labeled "R1-Bin"

I'll verify that, it did claim to have an R1 binned cree last night when I first saw this light posted. So this guy isn't crazy. (Well OK, he might be crazy but we can't prove based on this thread)

I admit that I was among those who didn't immediately recognize that R-1 CREEs don't exit. I ordered several of these, discovered that DX revised the product description to a CREE P4, and I cancelled my order.
