Help need a resistor for a 3.6 fv Cree

I bought a DX sku 6145 single AA 3W superlight the board on it fried so now i have it direct current. It runs on a 3.6v 14500 no 5 mode either. All i want to see what resistor I can put to go from high to low. I tried 20.1 & 300, ohm no current.

Plugging a few values into http://ledcalc.com/ indicates 1 ohm is a good place to start.

Thank you Torch boy, the link helps alot. esp in 1/8 watt description terms. I see here like 200ma uses 1 ohm for low light great thanks.
