Malkoff Question?

I just hooked up a Malkoff D drop in. The only other LED flashlight I have is a stock Maglite 4 C with the Maglite 3 watt LED in it. The Malkoff is without a doubt a better beam. Will high current Nimh D Cells improve the Malkoff over stock Alkaline battery's?

I compared 2 identical 3D Mags with Malkoffs, one with fresh Duracells, and one with Freshly charged 12KmAH CTA NiMH cells. I think I saw a small difference to the bright side on the Ni's, but it was very small.

Thank you for your response! I guess my incan mods have just spoiled me as far as lumens go.
