Which powerfull LED with good throw and AA(A) batteries?

Hallo,

my HID (Microfire) is dead now but I need a good "thrower" with normal batteries, no CR123 or something like that.
I´ve got a lot of AA´s rechargable with a good charger so it would be nice it use them.

Only have seen the Coast (Led Lenser) Focus duplex with AAA or the Maglight-Mods with AAA or AA.

The Led Lenser looks quite ugly, but I wouldn´t show it to anyone :crackup:

Is there anything else in the universe?

not sure how you would have defined powerful. but Streamlight Proploy 4AA Luxeon comes to mind.

not sure if runtime is any less important? :shrug:

The Romisen RC-G2 seems to be a good thrower for 1AA. Thread.

The Maxlite Extreme is a good thrower but it also has a high price.

The 2xAA River Rock (from Target) also known as an Aurora uses 2 standard AA cells and is low priced compared to many high $$ lights.

OK....3 "C" cells...throws like crazy...costs $22....free shipping....I bought 12 last year for presents.

You can mod it easily with a seoul u bin Led, and it is even 40% stronger. The secret is the excellent-but cheap - reflector.
