Why no Streamlight or Insite CREE's

I want a Streamlight TLR-1 weapon light with a CREE, maybe a Insite SSL

Why don't these companies get with the program and use cutting edge technology ?

Because these companies aren't going to put another penny into their product until they know it's worth their investment. Look at how long it took Maglite to adopt an LED of any type..

I hear you. And why are they 240 bucks? I mean get fenix to make one, I know a light that small with HA III can't be that hard???

No, but a light that can withstand the shock of recoil isn't quite so easy.

Another thought (and I have no idea the validity of this idea) is that it might be more difficult to test a weapon-mounted light in many of these overseas companies.

There are very (and I mean VERY) few lights that I trust completely. If I'm going to a gunfight, I want a gun that I know without a doubt will work. If it's a gunfight in the dark, I want a flashlight that I know will work. No clickies, no extra stuff - simple is best here..
