I just went to Costco and picked a few Leatherman Monarch lights. I was VERY impressed. It's beam is very uniform from spot to flood. I have a feeling my Sure Fires and Falcata's will be sitting in a box! For $30, you cant go wrong!

I saw that at Costco yesterday. Do you think it's actually 145 lumens as advertised?

I did like the tint (cool not green) and the Cree emitter. Build quality seemed excellent through the blister packaging.

There's a thread about it here: https://www.candlepowerforums.com/threads/182032

It uses a Cree P4 directly-driven from 3 AAA's, which delivers around 900-1200 to the emitter initially. The 145 lumens figure is realistic for "out the front" lumens, which I have to applaud Leatherman for using. Most companies would've listed it at 220 lumens or so, which would be "at the emitter" lumens. From my observations, the light may be putting out 150-160 out the front lumens. Looks like Leatherman was fairly conservative with their rating.
