I just got my order of three of each of these lights:DX 1993 & DX 5346.

1st impressions:
- The 1993 is lighter in weight than the 5346.
- The 1993 can tail stand, and the 5346 cannot, they have the same body length, but the 5346 button sticks out father.
- The 1933 button has a softer/EZ'er click than the 5346. I like the 5346 stiffer button better.
- The 1993 ID body for AA's is slightly larger than the 5346's. My rechargeable Sony 2500mAh AA's b-a-r-e-l-y fit in the 5346 body. This could be helped if the 5346's ID edge were smoothed some, it's a hard/sharp-ish edge.

Beam tests...this one is weird. First I tested the DX 1993's with my freshly recharged Sony 2500mAh AA's. All batteries tested around 1.34v fully charged. I tested all 3 of the 1993...there were slight color & slight brightness differences between all of them. 3rd in place was warm/green-ish & not quite as bright. 2nd in place was less warm/green-ish and about same brightness as 1st. 1st in place had a nice cool color & brightness. I picked the best and will keep it for myself, and xmass gift the others.

DX 5346 beam tests..this was also weird. I used the same Sony batteries as before, and they averaged 1.32v. There were slight color differences between all of them. 3rd in place had a very slight warm color to it. 2nd was less then that. 1st had a nice bright cool white.

I noticed the 5346's were cooler/blue'er and brighter than the 1993's. So I tested the lowest of the 5346's and the best of the 1993's. The lowest of the 5346 was cooler and slightly brighter than the best 1993!

Conclusion:
The 5346's were cooler and slightly brighter than the 1993's. The 1993's were warmer & some had a slight green tint.

Sorry no beam shots. My walls are egg shell texture and mid tone color, no where near pure white. My camera is difficult to use in low light situations, and trying to get its white balance from the off-white wall to get correct images. Plus the camera is pretty much all automatic, I can only select flash, no-flash, macro.
