So I've been in NYC since September, and my mother's coming over on the 20th this month for two weeks, but I haven't had the time to travel around much so I don't really know of any good places to bring her especially now that it's winter.
The current plan is to travel around the East Coast from the 20th to the 30th, and I've already booked a rental car for that. My mother (and myself) aren't that big into doing the typical tourist activities like going to museums and whatnot, though we will set some time aside for that.
Apart from D.C. and the usual NYC attractions (we'll be in NYC from 30th to the 4th), I'd like some recommendations for scenic drives, quaint little rural towns, mountains, lakes, countryside stuff, etc.
