Adjustable output for my LS Grey kit

I added a smt switch to the botom of the pc board. Changed the curent resistor to .3 Ohm and added an aditional .3 ohm in paralel that is switched from inside the battery compartnent.

The two resistors in paralel = the original .15Ohms the high output is 330MA. On low it outputs 170MA. Interestingly enough half power is not half intensity. I have not done any scientific tests but it seems to be about 80% as bright on low while dubling your battery life. If I feel the need to get serious about my light then I can switch it in about 5 seconds. The switch was super glued down to the underside of the board.

Been meaning to do one of these mods but didn't have the time nor the switch. Not surprised about half current not equalling half intensity. I think your eye perceives brightness in a non-linear fashion.

nice mod!!!

yes, the efficiency of leds makes underdrivin them much more practical than incandescants.
