I'm a noob here and could really use some help from the experts.

I have a 10 year old minimag that is a bit sentimental to me and hence I am not looking to replace it... but modding it has got my interest.

Can someone compare these two upgrade kits... pros and cons of each?

I generally tend to prefer beam patters that have a tight centralized focus, with just a little spill/flood. I also would prefer a kit with some good overall throw and distance. Compared to the stock incan of course.

Does the MJ products kit retain focus ability?
Do I need to add a click switch end cap to either kit? Is there any luminous performance advantage in adding one?

I am leaning towards the TLE-5EX unless I can be convinced otherwise. I looked at the nite-eyes kit closely at Target and it reminded my of my coast Lenser (which is also a 3-LED), so... I think I'll pass on that one... unless you all can convince me otherwise

FWIW, heres a pic of my light. It was a gift from an ex-co worker at my previous job.

THANKS!!!

I think they both have a focusing ability.

The Cree drop-in would be much brighter then the MJ drop-in. But the MJ drop-in has much more runtime.

Both are good drop-ins but meant for different tasks.
