I'm looking to build a larger light from surefire parts but do not want a turbohead so my question. Has anyone put a standard M3 bezel on an M4 body and what bulb/led and batteries are you using ? I was thinking of a tower module but I think AW's may be to tall to focus in M3 bezel and not sure if Arcmania's are still available or maybe a lumens factory incan. any feedback appreciated. Also, Kiessling about a year go you posted a C3 with a KL5 what batteries are you using ? I was under the impression the KL5 was a boost circuit and could not handle 3 primaries. Am I mistaken ?

M3 bezel (Z46) on an M4 body should be no problem. I don't think there is any tower module for that bezel except for the KT4 turbo head. Best bet is still the MN11 driven by 2 x 18650 protected cells.

The KL5 head can handle 9 volts as it is an option for C3/G3 etc. 2 x 17500 rechargeables can also be used (8.4 volts)

You can use a SureFire Z20 battery spacer (blank 'battery') and the standard MN10/MN11 lamps in the M3 aka Z46 bezel on the M4 body:

On an M4 body the KL6 is a great LED option, IIRC only draws about 250mA from four primary cells. Feeding it with a pair of 17670 Li-ion rechargable cells would also work. The 2x17670's would also drive the standard incandescent M3 lamps(MN10 and MN11).

Your BEST option is use the Leef 2x18650 body and the bezel/tailcap of your choosing.

Bouncer, You can put together what I call a 12P. Use a 9P with an A19 battery extender and a G&P 12V lamp assembly. Or, you could also use a Cabela's 1.7 inch turbo head. I am not sure if they still sell them.

These lights put out about 225 lumens for about 50 minutes. They throw well AND are a wall of light. With the SF 1.25 inch Z44 head, they fit into most any pocket. I usually carry one in an inside coat pocket during the long, dark Winter.

P.S. You could also use an M2 head, or a slightly smaller Z32 head, with the G&P Lamp Assembly. The Z32 head is generally used on shotgun weapon lights. It is only about $24 from LPS. It has a plastic (lexan?) instead of glass window.

You could use a M3 bezel on a M4 body with Lumen Factorys EO-M3 or HO-M3 and 2 17670's. If you were brave you could bore the body out to accept 18650's.

Al is that blue spacer a "stock" SF item?
It kinda looks like a generic li-ion - I hope people don't get confused.
