Photon Proton Pro - Wow! Now a different beast altogether!

I already had the original Proton, the one with 6 white LEDs. Nice light if a little violet. Good, useful floody beam, lots of light and VERY compact.

I stopped by Brightguy on the way home yesterday and picked up the Cree version. Wow! What a different light this is. The hotspot is well defined, the light is much whiter, there is plenty of spill, and it outthrows my L1 Cree on high!

Yes, yes it does. If you are looking for a great little pocket light, this is the one you want.

Yeah it still has the red LED in a teeny little pocket to the side of the main emitter. I never used the red in the original, and doubt I'll use this one.

I think Photon now has pretty much the best single AA light going. Imho of course.

Mike, they're several threads on this little GEM already...let's close this one & continue here. A search for "Photon Pro" will render several of those other threads. There are links to some initial reviews as well in the above link.
