Ok, well i found this dummy cell i had and i put it in my l2d to see what would happen. at first it seemed just as bright but after a few switches back and forth it was obvious having 2 cells is brighter. anyway, does it basically turn it into an l1d? there isn't an l1d q5 so would it be brighter than an l1d ce? Why cant you use an l2d down past 1.5v, is it from resistance? does the l2d circuitry sense when there is only 1 battery? sorry for so many q's but i was just wondering...

If you buy the currently offered L1D / P2D combo pack, you'll have your "Q5" L1D. It's the only way I know of L1D-CE (Q5) lights coming from the factory right now.

There is a L1D Q5 if you buy it in the combo pack. The L1D Q5 is brighter than a L1D CE (P4).

However, the L1D Q5 with 3.0v 14500's would put you at brightness levels of the P2D Q5 and L2D Q5 (basically the same light).

The way you had it, L2D with a dummy cell, is essentially an extended L1D.

It would function like a L1D-CE Q5.
