Hardware:
- FM3H-2 3" chrome head
- FM fat tube, chrome
- 6 X AA cell holder, NiMH 7.4 V operation
- Shark driver
- SharkSink D
- 20K log pot
- Custom knob with level indicator/tritium vial slot
- (4) Cree XRE Q5 WG
- (4) McR27XR reflectors and Mirage Man centering rings
- MDXR-4 heatsink, 1" 6061 aluminum

Specs:
- Runtime 1 hr on hi using 2200 mAH cells (draws 2.2A @ 7.2V)
- Output pot-adjustable from 0 - 920 mA per LED, center pot detent = 480 mA
- Vf of string = 13.5V @ 350 mA, 14.9 V @ 920 mA.

Looks like the only way to up these is to use the Ostars. You NEED:naughty: to do a 3 minimum Ostar.
Seriously nice lights. If I were rich, I would comission you to build me a Moby.:twothumbs

It will run fine on 3 X 18650, but would not fully dim. The lowest setting would be more like a med. Dialing down the pot from hi, the light will dim to a certain point, then further dialing down will not dim any more. It will go into direct drive. As the cells deplete and their voltage drops, the light will dim more. The lowest level would be an indication of the state of discharge in a sense.

You could run it on 2 X 18650, with a dummy, and dim to zero output.

Running on 2 X 18650, runtime should be at least 1 hr, on 3 cells about 1 1/2 hr.
