I was in the process of cleaning out my garage this week and found couple items that might have a little interest to you guys.
In accordance to my personal goal to develop the "most" powerful LED light to compete with our hotwire brethren, the initial attempt was Sephiroth, and two and a half year later the design was well overdue for an update. So the latest incarnation is "the Elephant". In a shootout vs a FM85 (same host with WA1185), E's performance was far more superior in close and medium range, illumination field was almost twice the incan counterpart. Where it fell short was the long range 100 yards and color temperature to turn off street lights.
=== The "Elephant" Specs ===
Total Weight: 918g | 32.4oz
Power consumption: 7 - 28 Watts
Power pack: 35 Wh
Runtime: 75 - 300 minutes
Max Light Output: 1200+ lumens
FM-3H host
1x Shark/Remora drive (Yes only ONE!)
4x 2400Ah 18650 custom pack with indenpendent port for ballancing
1x Custom 2.5" step heatsink
6x Cree XR-E Q5 LED
1x SSC P4 LED
6x McR-17-XR Reflectors
1x McR-27-L Reflectors
.
.
.
Next off is is the "Mouse", the goal of this light was very similar to the Elephant but at the opposit end of the spectrum. Minimize the size. The latest generation Drake light, is among the smallest and brightest light available. Lumen per once it's just can not be beat. So what else can I do to further enhance it?
Well not much, except for giving it a black diamond coating.
In total 10x units were produced.
6x of which were not cosmetically defective.
One went to a forum member last month for Xmas.
One was promised for an ex Navy seal with impecable credential and yet to be delivered
One will sit in my tiny china cabinet with a small collection of lights
The last one will be donated to CPF, see here
Can you find the diamond in the rough?
