I bought my very first LED flashlight that's brighter than a candle at christmas time today.
according to this article here.
http://www.ledsmagazine.com/news/3/10/10
this cree xlamp is able to output more light if you stick my amps through it, now here's where my confusion begins i bought a no branned led flashlight for $39 australian to be precise this one here..
http://www.jaycar.com.au/productVie...d2=&pageNumber=&priceMin=&priceMax=&SUBCATID=
Now i just noticed that, the next one up to that uses 3 aa batteries
http://www.jaycar.com.au/productVie...d2=&pageNumber=&priceMin=&priceMax=&SUBCATID=
however, would anyone know if i'm right in assuming that the
the difference between what i have with the 80 lumens aa driven
flashlight is also identical to the bigger version with 3 aa's running
at 136 lumens..
so in short, is this 1AA driven cree xlamp identical to the 3AA driven
xlamp cree LEDs only difference being less amp's are being pulled
from the DC > DC step up regulator? and technically it should be possible
to pull 136 lumens from just 1 AA with a circuit mod tweak on the DC
to DC regulator?
Thanks for any input, after getting this little pocket 80 lumen thrower
its made look for bigger items such as the Q5 cree, i'm slowly learning
and i think i'm going to be hooked lol
