As the bronze version of this light went such quick I decided to let also my AL one go.
The light was beadblasted and the the tops of the knurling polished - giving a very pleasant contrast.
I opened the bezel up to 14.5mm and turned in a parabolic reflector which then was polished by hand.
So the light has a lot of more throw as with the original smaller and straight reflector.
Throw and flood of this mod is between the original floody ION and the one you know from MCR reflectors.

This one will leave me for $175 shipped worldwide registered mail:

And here comes a beamshot of the light:

That larger parabolic is a huge plus on this light. It corrects the my biggest complaint with the standard light. Very nice and quite temping too.......

Karl, here we go ;)

These are the two titanium IONs I modded with MCR16 reflectors and opened bezel.
For my taste this converts a good light to a really wonderful light :)

But making this mod is a big mess and you are close in loosing the light.
All is extremely tight and you are playing with tenth of a millimeter while downturning the reflector and the control module.
Finally you need to shorten the battery tube by 3mm and also need to cut the threading inside 3mm deeper. Sure the complete light also is 3mm shorter than before.

These are the keyring lights of me and my girlfriend.
You see they are users, both glasses are broken...
