Bi-pin incan to LED drop-in?

Hi guys,

Need some keywords here to search the internet. Manufacturer, vendor, model #?

I have a Magellan 1xCR123A bi-pin Xenon incan light. I am wondering if there is such a thing out there as a bi-pin LED bulb that can go into this?

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

There probably isn't, and if there is, it has very poor heatsinking.

You may be able to use an SMJLED bi-pin dropin.

OK, I got these LED:

and successfully replaced the bi-pin xenon.

I got the red 10,000 mcd LED and that one is nice, just the right amount of light for night vision and at 2.2 Vf and 20mA, sips battery juice.

NiteIze makes 2 dropins, SMJLED, Terralux has SSC and Cree dropins. Not sure if any of them would physically fit through, and most would probably require major reflector modifications.

Search for LED upgrades for the MiniMag and you'll find possible candidates.

If you want long runtime, you might be able to use a RCR123 and direct drive a single 5MM led, but plan on replacing the LED every now and then (depending on use) it it will cook itself eventually.
