does the switch affect the water resistance of the maglite as i use mine outdoors and does it have an O ring on it. it defnately looks like a cool upgrade. also, where is it made? and what other switches are there like it on the market??

It's got an o-ring, yes.
I have used mine in caves with water, dipping it in about a foot of water for a few seconds a few times and it had survived.
I have also washed it under running tap water and water never got in.
I goop the o-rings with plumbers grease every once in a while.
