i have asked this but nobody seems to react

got an email form fenix inwhich they explain that they are open for suggestions on how to improve the L1DCE or new light

please do not post impossible options or options which are hard to inplement
better an improved L1DCE soon than a new light withing a yesr

here are my suggestions all of them are REALLY EASY TO DO

  • 14500 support while keeping all modes
  • Q5 or better bin (allready available)
  • 4 brightness levels On regular AA or NimH
  • low(5 lumens) med(50 lumens) high (90 lumens) turbo by twist(120 lumens)
on 14500's
4 settings low(5 lumens) med(50 lumens) high (90 lumens) turbo by twist(180 lumens)

  • extend the 1x AA tube by 1.5mm so EVERY 14500 battery will fit.
  • delete the sos mode because most people do not use them. replace it with a beacon mode on 10 lumens(blink every 6 seconds)

memory and user definable setting like the NDI are nice to have but probably will take a lot more time.

if fenix implement above features they again are leaders on both output and runtime.

Agreeing with your suggestions:

Lower low
Delete all SOS & strobe modes
Q5 [or even new R bin, which should be ready by the time they would be making these]
14500 support would be nice, but not if it meant limiting runtime or brightness on NiMH.

How about some good knurling and a crenellated bezel. Maybe some kind of pocket clip, and a forward clickie.

Chris

I like those suggestions (although I like strobe as a bike light) The lower-low would be great a beef up the forward clickie. Since it will be new, throw in some of those new R2 bins... new light equals new letter in the bin code. Maybe make a larger reflector/head version so the L2D R2 can have more throw for a 2AA light. I have Eneloops and I'm not afraid to use them. :)

Im all for aggressive knurling, and crenelated bezel.

Why not make two types, a thrower, and a flood. Cater for everyone.

As bright as possible, a medium, and a lo lo mode.

i would love a knurling all over the body like the novatac or nitecore ..the modes i like except for sos ....this may be too much but have it so that its like 2 lights in one where it has a slideable body to adjust from 1aa to 2aa

replace sos with really low mode

really low, low , med , high ---- turbo ,strobe

r bin of course:grin2:

1. Knurling (Not so much it rips your pocket but it needs some...)
2. Remove SOS, Keep strobe on Turbo
3. Low Low so that you don't loose night vision
4. STURDY HEAVY DUTY POCKET CLIP PLEASE !
5. Agree with batttery options, Lumen amounts and Q5 suggestion.
6. Reverse polarity prevention donut in the head
7. Butter smooth threads

Think everyone already said all this but I'll cast another vote.

hold on guys... with all those features im sure fenix doesn't want to take away business from all their other lights right? people might decide not to buy the more expensive T1 for this thing....

Sturdy clip that goes in between the body and the head or cap so it wont come off on accident but if you want to take it off you can just unscrew the head or tailcap.

On the other hand, Fenix did this on the T1 they finally put a sturdy clip BUT THE FIRST THING EVERYBODY DID WHEN THEY RECIEVED IT IS TO COMPLAINED ABOUT IT. So I suggest, that the clip would be removable.

I dont blame people taking of the clip on the T1 its a hassle to hold it

Knurling like the AAA-P and an HA III finish like the AAA-P or like a Surefire light.

High-quality detachable pocket clip.

Fewer modes and no more than 4 levels of light.

Keep the textured reflector.

Knurling and lighter color finish.

Or, A polymer light something of the same quality of the Streamlight Propoly series. Something I could really abuse. The 1AA light is not a heavy heat generator so it would be workable.

Thanks,
Alex

Less modes, only low, medium and high. Eliminate the high flash when started in low mode. Latest LED version.
