Interesting thing I noticed with some LEDs driven direct drive..
I was comparing output of my L1 Lux3 head on a E1 with RCR123 to my new Modamag 18650 (what else to do when the fiance is at a bridal show?) and noticed it was about as bright as the same head modded with SSC (Milky modded). So to investigate, I measured the current draw through both, and a gen 2 head for reference.
What I found all on the same body and 18650 cell:
L1 SSC gen 1 head = 0.7 amp
L1 SSC gen 2 head = 0.7 amp
L1 Lux3 gen 1 head = 1.1 amp
I then ran them all on the E1 with a relatively fresh 16340/RCR123 installed:
L1 SSC gen 1 = 0.54 amp
L1 SSC gen 2 = 0.49 amp
L1 Lux3 gen 1 = 0.72 amp
I knew Crees and SSC's ran with a little less amps, but this is significant with the 18650.
