Who makes the drop-dead, hands-down, most fantastically phenomenal Cree Q5 (or equivalent), drop-in for a Surefire D3 Defender (9V), that's as rugged and reliable as the light it's going into? Price is far less important than quality for this particular question.

To be a little more specific, I lean towards throwers, so a tight hot-spot and fair to marginal spill is preferred, but if the best is a wider pattern, that will work as well.

Thanks in advance, and have a great day!

For slightly superior throw and less spill, the BOG Q5 - bugoutgear

For excellent throw and superb spill, the Malkoff M60

I have been asking the same thing on the forum this past week. After all I have read and been told, I decided that I wanted the Malkoff. It will be more suitable for my work (corrections officer) to light up an entire cell from top to bottom and left to right.
