Reflector Question

I'm working on a KX2 mod. Is the McR-19XR the right reflector to fit the stock Cree??

The McR19 and 19XR work with the Cree.
XR version has a tighter hotspot.

Search for KL1-R mods (R for reflector)
I think McR20s were used back when Luxeons were in the heads.
If so a McR19XR may be loose.

The McR-19 is longer and slimmer than the McR-20, it has a different parabola. I'd check the dimensions of the TIR in the KX2 first.

I know the McR-20 doesn't fit. I had and extra from my KL1-R project. I've got some UCL-LDF lens coming I'll try that before I order the McR-19. Thanks for the help.

Check out the dimensions to the McR-19
and the McR-19XR- theres also a groove added
its there to bind 2 or more together with an o-ring

I like and use the non-XR verison with my A19 head.
Its got the smoother spot to flood transition IMHO.

I ordered 1 of each of the McR-19s types from the Shoppe. See what I like best. I still have a stock KX2 and a stock KL1 I could do something with.

Can you measure the dimensions of the optic (without getting fingerprints all over it)? If you can, someone ought to be able to tell you what McR is likely to fit.

I'm very interested in this project. Keep us posted with what you learn.

The optic is 18.65mm or 18.56mm I forget. But I don't think it comes down on the led. So one of the McR-19s should fit.

Is that the diameter, or the length of the optic?

Do you happen to know the diameter of the board on which the emitter is mounted?
