I haven't seen the hard copy yet but here is the base image that was shot for the introduction of the light featured in the Illumination tools catalog. The version in the catalog will have text and actual image of the light over the it.

Here are some "behind the scenes" frame grabs to give you an insight on what was involved to create this image.

Great insiders information and pictures, but I would sure hope if anyone was in her situation with somebody menacing lurking in the shadows carrying some kind of weapon that her only defense would not just be a SF light! Maybe SF can modify some of their lights to have pepper spray or stun gun capabilities! Now that would be a light!

A .357 or a .40 would be even nicer!

Sigh...It is difficult to comment on the beautifully done (in the SF Shelby Chan tradition) photo, vs. the implied poor choices by the female actor regarding attire (especially in shoes) the neighborhood, and time of day for a walk, vs. predicted outcomes... while staying within CPF posting guidelines. SO:

I will simply agree an appropriately mounted and carried X400 would be a "nice" illumination tool in such a situation.

Shelby's work is always amazingly beautiful. Thanks for sharing the pics.

You mean dark alleys don't have a small spotlight aimed at your feet?

Oooh, that girl's purrrty (so is the light). Little movie would be interesting, showing her blinding him when he approaches then executing a full-sweep arc strike to the side of his skull with that crazy-looking bezel as he is stunned from the lots o' lumens...

Thanks:) The jist of the story in the shot: Girl just gets off work (Attire), decides to take a short cut to her destination through an alley and then...etc.
Originally, the concept was to show a series of images that lead up to the main image.
Of course, some will never grasp that this was shot for a Flashlight company. If I were to shoot for a "How to screw up a perp" catalog, then she'd be walking 3 pitbulls with a sawed off shotgun under her trench right? ;)

The Charles Bronson movies were cool, but don't let them get to your head.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, Marnav, but unless you were a well paid model living in NYC,... no. However, if you happen to have legs like that then you may stand a chance. :)

Actually I liked Charlie in his boxing movie, Hard Times. And yes you are correct about the model, thought maybe it was Kate B. junior or something. :D

Great, Surefire is embarking on a mass marketing campaign aimed at getting flashlights perceived as weapons so we won't be able to take them on airplanes any more. Thanks guys. Not.
