Stumbled across the forum while google searching a decent smallish carry light.

ARC AAA-P arrived a couple of days ago. I was shocked by how quickly it was shipped & how bright a single AAA light could be!

Found Lowe's $29.95 Cree (2 C) flashlight through CPF. It's almost too bright to use in a small room at home.

Switched all my Maglite's over to LEDs. Had no idea how much longer batteries would last until I read old CPF posts.

Inova X1 that arrived yesterday was a little disappointing (...wife loves it though, "For Meee?")

On the list for an ORB Alu-Raw when they come out.

I'm tellin ya... this place is a BAAAAAD influence!

;)

If you are impressed with that brightness of the Arc AAA, just wait until you get that Orb Raw. To put it into perspective, the Arc is about 9 torch lumens, the Orb is 160 emitter lumens (about 112 torch lumens). The Cree emitter is also alot more white than the Nichia.

The best lanyard you can buy here is the one that keeps your wallet attached to your trousers. Welcome to CandlePowerForums!

youre right on!
i used to be crazy about my Nitro RC but after discovering this site, im full blown addict on flashlight

Divewatches... guitars... safe full of powder burning noisemakers...

It's now like I didn't have enough interests to waste money on. Now the wife is catching me turning off the lights to play with Flashlights?!

'Course she already figured out I was nutz years ago.. this is just one more thing for her to shake her head about!

+1, the NS Raw is a real show stopper on high, but at 10 hours advertised runtime on low, it is also a very practical small EDC. One of my top 5 I think.

In complete defiance to Mike there is no hope for your wallet, lanyard or not!

:welcome:

An AAA light can be even brighter then the Arc. The L0D-CE Q4 should have around the same amount of output as the maglite 4D(8% off coupon at Fenix Store is "CPF8").

If you think this is crazy, don't look at the higher end/custom/modded lights.

I can whole heartedly agree with that statement! :p

I originally joined CPF a couple years ago after reading about the forum on another board and surfing over and was intrigued by the vast choices of lights and wealth of knowledge and friendly posts of its members. I was just way to busy back then to make any educated choices and do enough research to purchase anything except a 3 watt Nuwaii LED.

Since recently revisting the site over the past few months I have decided to take the plunge and make a few purchases:

Regalight WT1 (My first real light by CPF standards)- From Lighthound (I missed the special offer :()

SF Charger and 18650 x2, RC123 x2 - From AW

SF L1 Cree - From fellow CPF member

Nitecore Defender Infinity - From fellow CPF member

Novatac 120P - Will be looking for one soon!

It sure has been alot of fun - but my wallet is unhappy

Ya know... one thing that I'm enjoying is how many very useable "budget" flashlights there are out there. The Walley-world AA Ray-O-Vac I picked up after reading about it on CPF is an excellent glovebox light for under $20.

The Romisen RC-G2 (and the keychain micro-lights, and the UV torch) I'm expecting from DX reads like it should be amazing for $10!.

Sure, I was familiar w/ tactical lights. But SF's prices always kept me out of the flashlight game.

Can't promise I won't end up spending the "big bucks" on a mega-power mod, but for now I'm having a ball splashing around in the shallow end of the pool!

Ain't it just!

I remember thinking, different lights for different jobs? WT? These folk are crazy!

Nail your wallet down - it's going to hurt.

And Orbs are truly wonderful, and not just because Rob is in the same nation (if not country) as I am. The only lights that I own more than one of - well apart from 3AA minimag LEDs (well, and 2 6D mags, but they don't count)

I always have at least one orb raw within two feet of myself.

Yup those guys were crazy - and so am I. Given that I've spent the last twenty years working in a psychiatric hospital, I think I know of what I speak.

Meanwhile :welcome: and enjoy your bankruptcy.

I think I've checked CPF 3 separate times today (hey, class was boring), I just bought a CL1H, that'll do for a nice EDC.. and now I have to find some 18650's and a charger Next up: a "really bright" light... 35w HID? 1kw tank light? I dunno..

- this money-drain hobby is starting to get to me :-D

This place is a bad influence on me as well, I think we need a new splinter forum "Flashlights Autonomous" linked to from the main page like casinos do for gambling addicts.

Drats! He quoted me so I can't sneak in and fix the typo!

Freudian slip perhaps... a friend was telling me about watching G1 on DVD over the weekend, he tells me it's much cheesier than it was when we were young.

I'll say it's a bad influence! I'm about to acquire a LOD Q4 just because.

I'm about to acquire 3 Green Lasers just because.

I don't have any super high end lights, but my LumaPower M1 LumaHunter rocks!
