Compatible Upgrade For Luxeon 1 Star?

Looking to upgrade a few Freeplay Jonta lights w/ Luxeon 1 Star. Would an SSC P4 work? If not, what would be the most compatible upgrade?

pretty sure SSC P4 will be just fine. I put in a SSC P4 U bin in my Dorcy 3xAAA, which had a Lux III.

Hey, what do ya know...someone I can help for a change!

I concur with the SSC P4 replacement. I've replaced the Lux in my Dorcy 3D, and it's been rock solid...much improved over the Luxeon. I have two more on order from DX (click) to mod a Brinkmann 1Watt and an older K2U from DX.

SSC P4 should work in any light that had a Luxeon I in it as far as I know.
