I knew an engineer who could create great mnemonics off the top of his head.

I obviously can not.

The challenge is to come up with a mnemonic for the NovaTac (programmables) options set.

Hopefully someone can come up with something other than I have...
"BEACON SOS LOCATOR FOR BUTT TIMERs, a SIMPLE TACTICAL OPTION"
"BECause SiSter LOCATes FORk (in) BUTT, OTTO SIMPLy TAKes MENU (home)"

I don't know what a "butt timer" but it got 40 hits on google!
The first mnemonic works great for remembering the options, I just can't remember the mnemonic!!!
The option list is too long and arbitrary for mnemonics based on first letters only.

Here is the options list (just in case you forgot :eek:). The terminology is flexible;
1. Beacon
2. SOS, Emergency
3. Locator
4. Force/Remember
5. Button lock
6. Auto Off, Timer
7. Simple momentary switch
8. Tactical momentary switch
9. Ramping + Options, Features, Menus
[Selecting an option toggles (enable/disables) the feature.]

The NovaTac is very intuitive and simple except remembering the option settings. Written by an engineer after my own heart, but without remembering the options sequence (although the option designator signals while in the menu are a truly ingenious idea to help remember) but it is still difficult to remember weeks later should I want/need to change something, or to even remember what options/features are available.

Other ideas for a mnemonic???

Just play with it for a week, instruction book in hand, then leave it where you like it. I haven't changed my settings in months. You'll find that some are for you, and some never will be.

I'm in the back country camping a lot (mostly solo). Averaged 64 nights a year over the past 12 years.

Shattered my leg and foot once, got out on my own. Just want to be sure I can remember the options in case I need them and haven't used them in months, or years even.

On another thread there was interest in a mnemonic for the option set. Why did you read this thread???

i made up a wallet sized card with most of the novatac options on it.
it was designed to be printed out as a 5x7 photograph, trimmed and folded in half to be wallet sized.
i dont have the hosting at westdrift anymore to host the fullsize version
when i start my own site up i will host it again.
if you want it emailed, just PM me
