I was looking at this module:
1SM-2(1-stage multi power) Cree XR-E Q5 module(16V max) - US$29
  • Input Range: 3.0~16V
  • Output Range: 1A
  • Battery Type: 1x18650, CR123A's, RCR123's
  • Features:
    • constant output at 4.5~16V
    • recommended use 2xCR123A,3xCR123A or more

The output range is shown as 1 amp. What would this equate to in lux?

A Q5 driven at 1a should produce ~225-250 lumens. The lux number will depend on what light you use it in. Lumens are the total measurement of light produced. Lux is how intense the hot spot is(how tight the beam is focused)and measured at 1 meter. Edit: Used in a DBS I would expect ~ 20,000 lux

DavidC--I have that Dereelight module (1SM-2) and am very pleased with it. I dropped it in my SureFire C2. It is nice and bright with regular CR123s, but WOW super bright with RCR123s!
I have both reflector options (SMO smooth and OP orange peel) and prefer the OP reflector. The spot isn't quite as concentrated as with the SMO reflector but a very useful beam with nice side spill.
The color tint on mine is what I would call "pure white"--really nice.
Just my two cents worth.

Excellent info. I picked up a Cabela P6 clone (XPG COMBO) so this looks like a good way to pick up some punch. Now if only I can buy a crenelated strike bezel, it'll end up being a pseudo-P6D......

1SM-1(1-stage multi power) Cree XR-E Q5 module (6V max)

      • Input Range: 3~6V
      • Output Range: 1A
      • Battery Type: 1x18650,1x17670, 2xCR123A
      • Features:
        • constant output at 3.8~6V.
It said Output range at 1A...does that mean using 2xCR123A get it near the 1A range and 1x18650/17670 will not be close to 1A range?

1x18650 will give the same output as 2xcr123's, as far as I know atleast.

Not to jack your thread or anything but, what does a cree q5 run at lumens wise under 1.2A. This is what a few of the dereelight modules output as.
