DX simply cree driver is it good 6 hours?

I recently bought a DX simply cree yes i know it was crap but the runtime is pretty good . My question is what kind of driver as it has a capacitor instead of IC chips. Is it a buck booster? It does flicker ever so often i guess as voltage drops. I want to change the inerds of the little light with another driver is this advisable with a IC chip 1.5v driver from Kai. I really like the smallness of the light, and i dont have much money for serious lights. I worked on the reflector sanded it down and sanded a glass lens for it. Also put another dual stage clickie for low light and high.

I like taking lights like these into the wilderness for hunting and this light lasts a long time for close quarter situations.

I am interested in knowing more about this driver as well. When you say flicker, how often, and is it annoying?

Nah the flickering is not often, it barely heats up. Id say the price cant be beat for the runtime off a good battery. Would like to have this for low light conditions and power failures. Added a metal clip off a marker-lot worthy of a EDC.

Does it have an inductor?
If it has capacitors instead of ICs, it's probably a beefed-up variant of the joule thief, which would explain why the thing is so dim.
