Sold/Expired Disassembly of River Rock 1.5W 2C flashlight?

Just picked up a River Rock 1.5W 2C flashlight at Target. I can't figure out how to take off the top part of the flashlight. You can clearly see the break in the two pieces of metal where it should separate, but it refuses to budge.
