Had a quick question about the spring on the bottom side of the BOG module. With the spring attached, I cannot get the light to come on in a new 6P LED version or a G2. However, with the spring off, it would light up. What is the spring used for and is it needed? Thanks

The G2 does not use the Spring. I'm not sure about the 6P but I believe its the same.

In some G2's and 6P's you have to unscrew the brass heat sink 1/4 to 1 full turn to make contact.

Yes, the 6P does use a spring on the incan. My original P60 incan is now sitting in one of my Maxfire's.

With the 6P Led version I tried it in, I couldnt unscrew it enough to use the spring in it. However, it would light without the spring. Just wanting to make sure no harm will be done without using the spring.

Sorry for the late reply...

The spring is intended for older model Surefire flashlights like the round body 6p, 6Z, etc. It is also needed in an M2. If it works without it, then there is no reason to use it.

Hope that helps,
