I would like to buy this flashlight from DX. The only problem is that the comments say that it isn't very bright and that it uses a Luxeon III star in it. Could I buy the SSC P4 U bin star and just solder the old LED out the the SSC in? Also should I buy the 3V or 3.6V CR123A batteries?

The focus will be a little off with an optic.
The SSC sits lower than a Luxeon.
Also there isn't a picture of the LED so it could be on a non-standard sized star.

I would get a R2-G2 and swap the P2 for a Q5

Still under $20 and it uses NiMH AA or Alkaline
