I built the LE for this LongBow today, it turned out not too bad. My soldering skills are terrible, as this was my first attempt. I used a McCapsule with an SOB917, the emitter is an SSPP4 USVOH. Nice hotspot, and tons of spill. I hope this will be the first of many more. ANy advice is appreciated, thanks for checking it out.

What if you hide those solderings with some GITD-epoxy...?

I just glued a glow ring on the underside of the reflector, it is just bog enough to be hidden outside the opening of the base. I assume this will keep anything from shorting out.:thinking:

At least it works ... my first ones , in my first attemp, I blew up 3 cree emitters and a shark driver...:sick2:

Thanks for the positive feedback (almost) everyone, I had a great time doing this one. I know they will turn out looking better in the future, at least I have a bit of the basics down anyway.
