Does it mean if its 90 min. flat output, it turns off at 90 min.? Or does it means it gives out 90 min. of constant brightness regardless of voltage and drop to 50% afterward?

I tried searching for it and came out empty, if I over look please forgive me for this post.

For me it means a really flat regulation for the time given. What happens afterwards depends on the light. Some will shut off, some will dim, some will still be regulated but at a different level.

Depends on what batteries you use, some(most) Li-ion rechargeable batteries
shut off after the voltage dips below a certain level. But with CR123s, I'd presume it will go to a dimmer level, probably not regulated though.

If you bought the protected version, then the battery would shut off when the voltage is too low(most shut offs are around 2.7v).

Just bring back up primaries.

i cant... need 2 primaries to work in my light but the module only takes 4.2 max... i didn't get the multi-battery setup...

gunner...

If a module can take 3-6V @ 1.2A...does that mean it only get to 1.2A if using ~6V and 3V will not get 1.2A?

Also.. Alan said the dropin product 90min flat output..what does that mean?

Opps, I forgot the 1s was a single Li-ion setup.

3-6v 1.2amp doesn't mean anything except that at a certain(or a range) of voltage you will get 1.2 amp, that would depend on the driver.

Seeing as Dereelight seems to be pretty good at making stuff, as long as the Vf of the battery is above the Vf of the LED(within voltage range of course), the driver should provide 1 amp(according to their page), the LED should be receiving 1 amp.

Alan either means around 90 min regulated output or 90 minutes of good regulation before the output drops significantly.

it's rare for these type of drop-in to just turn off before dimming right?

i don't think the dimming or sudden turn off has to do with the lamp assemblies more than the way the battery works.

I was told by Alan from Deree that the 1S Q5 just turns off w/o dimming... better have backup batteries

It might be the internal protection for the drop-in in case you use unprotected batteries so the batteries don't get overdischarged.

Back up batteries and a small backup light would be a good idea.
