Just got a recent p2d q5: serial numbered, white cree back?

Hello,

I've received a recent p2d q5, I noticed that the cree is still yellow (square) but the background is no longer white. Is this normal? It has a serial number at the head. I have another q5 wc tint I've received from cutter's and another one I got modded, and they're yellow back but this one has white backing (but yellow square led) Is it normal? Anyone?

Sorry, I don't know the answers... but could you tell us how they compare in brightness and tint to one another?

Sure it is actually my brightest q5, by about 8 percent from the centre. I've measured using light meter, and swapped out the textured with the smooth reflector.

It's prefectly normal, it's just the new way Cree makes their XR-E White LEDs. The phospor now doesn't cover things that don't emit light, it only covers the LED die.
