I have been looking for a project to do recently and one has sparked my interest. I'd like to build a light bar like the ones that go in the back window of a vehicle. I have the LED's, wire, and flasher to do this but I can't seem to think of anything to mount the LED's to that is solid and would look decent and let me be able to solder the back of them. If you have any ideas please respond. Here are a couple of links to show what I'm talking about.

I'd say a sheet of black delrin maybe 4mm thick (at that thickness maybe even aluminum) perforated with 5mm dia holes. Then just stick each LED through a hole and mount it with a little clear epoxy.

Onlinemetals has Al sheet with an array of .1875 in holes in it. You would need to buy a 5mm drill bit to ream the holes out a little. Here.
