I thought for sure that I was going to jump on this; as soon as I saw the pre order thread.

I just have to put aside the research that I've been doing on another 2 cell, with an R2 emitter & a pressure switch.

BTW, does any have any picture of a Fenix 'OLIVE' colored light?? I want to see what he olive looks like. I want to know how green. I ordered a L2D today and wanted to choose OLIVE but decided black 'safer' cuz maybe I won't like the olive.

Actually, is the TK10 pic they have on the website 'olive'?

the incentives are the CPF MEMBERS SUGGESTED improvements to the form factor...

i can see where this is going, and there would be no call for saying that they are just selling a different design from the T1, when that basically IS what everyone wanted...

not directed at anyone, just a general precaution....:grin2:

Looks good, but I've got a bunch of 6P hosts sitting around waiting for R2 dropins from DX.

They sure look like the same light on paper but the looks of the TK10 are much better in my eyes since the clip seems to be removable on the TK10 (since the included allen wrench.)
It figures that I just bought the T1 hasn't even been shipped then the TK10 makes its appearance.

Well, I believe people can say almost whatever they want about the design of the TK10. If they believe that it is a re-design of the T1, I think they are entitled to their opinion. But this doesn't that the TK10 has no improvement over the T1. The fact that the TK10 has a different form factor may already be a big factor for most people. But for some people, maybe they were looking for a bit more like slightly longer runtime for example.

For me, since I don't own a T1.....I may look at the TK10 as a much better light but someone who owns a T1 may decide that the TK10 is not enough of the design change to trigger a $79 hit.

Personally, I like the TK10 look much better than the T1.

The removable clip on the TK10 looks to be a great improvement over the T1's design.
I see that the clip on the T1 is the only complaint about it, it seems to scratch the finish T1 owners say.

But I will be getting some heat shrink tube and covering it like I saw in another thread.

For headlamps, I love the Petzl Tikka Plus. I have three of them.

Anyways, I will have to come up with the fund for the TK10! :)

Not much incentive to buy the T1, is there?

Let me clarify what I meant. The T1 & T10 are marketed as tactical lights, but the ergonomic improvements in the T10 clearly make it better for actual tactical use. I assume that Fenix made these changes as a result of recommendations made by CPF members. Given this is true, what potential buyer would consider the T1 for a mere $3 savings? In my opinion, unless Fenix-store reduces the price of the T1, it won't sell very well now that the T10 is available.

I really wonder who is buying the T10 or the T1. With only 2 light modes of 225 and 60 lumens, it doesn't give a range of outputs useful for most everyday users. If I was a security guard or a policeman needing to carry a tactical light every day, I would also want a low of 10 lumens or less, in order to look at maps, write up tickets, etc. 60 lumens, IMO, is way too bright to be useful for such purposes. Perhaps it is useful for something else?

There is a lot of excitement on CPF regarding the T10 with a lot people anxious to purchase it. I am curious if this light is being bought to be looked at (it IS a great looker) or to be used. I wear a divers watch but never dive. I just like the way they look. Is it the same with tactical lights. Do a lot of people buy them even if they can't imagine using them in a tactical situation?

BabyDoc,

I do not have this light, or the previous generation, so my opinions are based on a light I do not own. However, I do have lights that have similar outputs and can tell you that it is relatively easy to find everyday uses for such levels.

More powerfull lights are not only good for putting a lot of light into a dark environment, but also good when there is a large contrast difference (i.e. under the dash of a car on a sunny day, dark attic from a bright sunlit room, etc.). In these high contrasting situations, using a low level of light is usefull, but your eyes will need to adjust more than if a more powerfull beam is brought to bear.

I do agree that most us here would opt for a lower low however.

I also agree that appearance is a major factor in why I purchase certain things as it adds to the whole ownership experience.
