I'm in the market for a 9mm pistol and I'm considering the Beretta 90-Two, and naturally I want the best weaponlight I can get so I'm waiting for the X400. However, it's important that I be able to use the remote tailswitch with the light and I'm afraid that the DG-16 intended for use with the 92FS/96FS won't be compatible with the shape of the newer pistol. Does anybody know (Al?) if any of the Surefire remote switches will work with the 90-Two?

Probably should call Surefire with that question. Those DG switches are very specific to their guns. Couldn't get a DG for my HK/X-300 combo.

It is best to call SureFire and ask to speak to a WeaponLight specialist about compatibility questions.

SureFire has generally tended to concentrated firearm-specific models to those firearms used by the Military, Government and Law Enforcement units, and unless new firearms are designed and developed by such groups involving SureFire in the process it is unlikely they will be catered for for quite a while, if ever.

I did as you guys suggested and called Surefire - I was answered in less than 2 minutes by a very helpful gentleman named Jose (no accent, despite the expectations that accompany his name) who worked with me to figure things out. Based on comparisons of the image of the 90-Two and the M9A1 version of the 92, the structure around the mounting point for the DG-16 doesn't seem to have changed in any significant manner and said he felt that the switch should fit without any trouble. He also mentioned that if I ordered directly through them and it didn't fit, I could return it for a refund, no questions asked.

Jose also said that the SL-xx remote switch series has been discontinued and is no longer available, so that makes choosing easy. ;)

It will be a while before I can afford the X400 (well, it has to come out first) and switch (gotta buy the gun first :banghead:) but I'll try to remember to update you guys on how well things work.

I just got the SL-xx switch for my x300 today and I freaken love it. Its amazing on my glock 19. I was going to get the DG but to me it looked as if every time you grabbed your pistol the light would come on, even at times when you didn't need it. The SL-XX on the other hand could be handled without the light coming on if you don't put any pressure on the pad located on the sides of the handle.

Both switches have positives and negatives, some of which are points of view depending on how and why the firearm is being used.
In general the SL switch is considered to add too much bulk to the handgrips of some handguns, and require different grips to activate for extended periods, and the exposed switches at the sides of the firearm can wear quickly in some holsters and methods of carry.
The DG switch is more natural to use, and it is 'normal' for the light to activate when you grip the handgun, as it desired by some users. It is less susceptible to wear and being damaged and easier in some cases to operate the switch and hold it constant-on for longer.

With any WeaponLight the individual user is the most important person to determine what works and doesn't work for them, based on their training and experience and the uses they are requiring light for. One of the best ways to determine the best choice is to try out a variety to find out. I appreciate that this can be expensive and time consuming but it can be well worth it based on the feedback I've heard, and what I read online.
