The Nitecore has a forward clicky. It wins on that fact alone.

C'mon, the l1d CE is $60, and the nite core is $90, thats not too far off.
it's not really more money IF the end result IS worth the better features, specific to the application.

I presently edc lod-ce (p4?) early one, and carry an A-8 (18650) in my truck/bob. Have a d-mini @ home and had a PID-CE.

In lieu of a replacement (read upgrade) for the LOD-CE I wanted something skinny-er than 123, and with the dual feed capability of aa-14500.

I donno, as soon as i get one they'll come out with some new ground ,breaking, must have,...
