I took a couple of pictures, trying to show the difference in color rendition between the cree (Q2) and the rebel (100). I didn't have the Q5 here right now, but the color of the beam seems about the same as the Q2.

The target is an old tree in the garden. You can see things looks grey or bluish with the Q2. The rebel brings out the green in the grass (the little that is in this time of year) and in the tree. It's not the best target anyway, but it was the only 2 pictures i managed to take before the camera battery died :shakehead

Just trying to show the supreme color rendition and beam of the rebel, i can't understand why everyone is so "obsessed" with the crees when the rebel 100 in my eyes, beats every cree led in both beam quality and color/detail rendition. And i just wanted to take some pictures, never taken beamshots before. :whistle:I think i will take some proper beamshots of better targets tomorrow. And include some more fenix flashlights.

First the L2D q2:

Second the rebel 100:

I throw in some (bad) pictures i took first. (it was foggy).

Yeah, i know, a buddy borrowed my Q5, it should be back in a few days, it's a little bit brighter than the Q2, but the color rendering is about the same. Cant compare to the reb 100 :)

let me keep it simple...............REBELS RULE!
Yes they do. I can't figure where to buy rebel 100 emitters. Dx only have the reb 80. If i found a place that had the reb 100 i would change the emitter in several of my flashlights. I really hope fenix will put rebels in more of their lights, like the L1D, i have several unused L2D bodies because I wanted L1D's and could only get the L2D with a rebel. Looking forward to the next gen of rebels. I hope they will have the same great color rendition. :grin2:

I agree...I was able to get the RB100 with the L2D back in oct 07, my first LED light. Compared it to the Olight T15, and the color on the rb100 was so much warmer than the violet hue on the T15; rebel is more useful to me.

Great pics.

Great shots!

As I am not very concerned about color rendition, both are excelent emitters for me.

You can buy Rebel 0100 here

To the topic:
I have experience with many Cree lights, some are cooler and some are warmer. I have only 2 Rebel lights and I have to agree that they have better color rendition than Crees. But it is not so big difference.
