My best friend is fascinated by my lights and asked me to email him a list of links to my favorite ones so he can order a few toys. The best (and only) decent light he has now is a 4D Mag LED. So I thought I'd post the email I sent to him here in case anyone is interested or has a comment:

"18650 rechargeable lights:

Lumapower MRV http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.4254 - This is one of my favorites! Tough as nails and throws a bright bean a VERY long distance. This is the one I got. It's well under half the price it should be selling for because it comes with sooo many extras. I'm not sure what the deal is, but grab one while ya can!

Romisen RC-M4 http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.7935 - This is an awesome deal. Romisen has excellent built quality. This one takes a great battery AND it's about the best deal anywhere on a light that takes the P60 drop-in module, so it's hella easy to upgrade down the line when bigger badder LEDs come out.

18650 batteries: http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.5790 - These things last for around 5 hours in just about any light. I REALLY love this battery.

18650/17670 Charger: http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.5837 - Nice and cheap and mine works great!

The other lights I have for P60 moules are Surefire P60L and Surefire G2L. You can actually buy those at some of the more upscale Lowe's, including the Rockwall store. Kinda pricey though. Surefires won't accept 18650 batteries, but they will accept the slightly smaller 17670.

1xAA Powered Lights

UltraFire C3 Stainless Steel Cree P4 http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.11133 - Kinda heavy because it's made from SS instead of Aluminum, but it's way cool!

Romisen MXDL RC-G2 http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.3609 - These are awesome as gifts for only $11! Not the brightest, but still very bright and they throw a long distance for a little AA light.

Fenix L1D Q5 https://www.fenix-store.com/product_info.php?cPath=22_69_50&products_id=403 (also available at lighthound.com) - This is that insanely bright one you were playing with. Really needs rechargeable batteries to run for long. Alkalines don't have anough juice.

Or, for another $13 you can get the powerpack like I have: https://www.fenix-store.com/product_info.php?cPath=22_52&products_id=226 (also available at lighthound.com)

And you can go to lighthound.com and get the 2xAA body (L2D) and extra caps and switches and stuff if you want.

1xAAA Powered Lights

Fenix LOD Q4 http://www.lighthound.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=3420 - This is the newest model of my really bright keychain light. It's quite a bit brighter than mine if you can imagine that! I got my dad a red one for Christmas. Only drawback is that you really can't use alkalines in them. Just not enough juice. But rechargeable are awesome!

Fenix E01 https://www.fenix-store.com/product_info.php?cPath=22_69_49&products_id=435 - I don't have one of these yet, but I will soon! The new GS series emitter is pretty nifty! The run time on these is insane! At such a low price I'm gonna get a purple one for Lesia, a blue for Savannah, and an orange for Spencer. And maybe one for me too. This is the first HA3 coating I've ever seen in colors. It's pretty tough on my dad's so I don't doubt that it is actually mil-spec.

Oh, I should warn ya that anything you order from dealextreme.com takes almost a month to arrive. They have always given me great customer service and I love that there's no tax or shipping or anything. But man it's slow.

Lighthound is in Texas and his stuff usually arrives in 2 days. And if ya order $75 or more the shipping is free.

And if ya do ever want to order from fenix-store or from lighthound, let me know first. I get a discount from both of them and I'll give ya the discount code."

Nice! I didn't know about the RC-M4. Added to my "to buy" list ;)

Also, I'd recommend this charger isntead- does two batteries independently, and a greater range of sizes, for less than double the price.
