2008 Inova T5, can it take 4.2V Li-ion?

Seems like the T5 should be able to physically take:

3x16340 (12.6V over)
2x16340 + dummy (8.4V under)
2x17500 (8.4V under)

Does anyone know if any of these above combinations will work? What about output?

There's a similar question in Dealer Section with no answer yet. I hope this will be a better place, and questions, than the other.

3x 3v primary lithiums=2x 17500's. Yes, it will work, both having ~the same voltage.
Same with the 2x 16340's and a dummy.
I wouldn't push the buck circuit with 11.1v from 3 RCR123A's, though.
