Got a two 3D Maglites & have a couple questions. One has the Monsterthrow IV with 3 NiCad D's & the other has the Maglite Led with 4 NiCad C's.
Am looking to get a Terralux LED for the one with the 4 C's, which one would be better, the Terralux for 2-3 D's or the Terralux for 4-6 D's? Or it doesn't make any difference?
On the 3D with Monsterthrow IV can I upgrade to 4 C's & will it make a difference? Electrolumen's says it's for a 3D so I don't want to damage it.
Thanks.

4C and 4D have the same voltage so the bulb doesn't care if it's C or D. The one for 4D is the right one for your 4C light.

I think what you are saying is that you have 4 C cells in a 3 D body, so you want to know if that module can run off of 4.8 volts (4x1.2) rather than 3.6?

I'm assuming to do that you need to modify the spring?

While I suspect that 4.8 volts won't harm your module, the initial part of the discharge curve may be driving the module at anywhere up to 5.6 volts and 25% over their rated power, which is where caution will be needed.

The Boost model (6EXb) uses the K2-tffc, while the buck (6EX) uses the SSC P4.

So why not use 3Ds with the K2-tffc?
