I was sort of hoping that story wouldn't surface in the wider world. 
We don't all do that in New Zealand.
There's a photo of him and his torch in the story on a local web site. And he's (discreetly) not wearing anything!

Sounds like his wife did a better job at policing than he did...
Looks like the brand has been blurred out in the photo but I'm guessing it's a Pelican or some dive light. :shrug:
