Help with LED Conversion of National BF-308

I have a National BF-308, it is very similar to a MiniMag...

It uses a 2 prong/lead incandescent bulb...

Can I just get an LED with 2 prongs and stick it in there???

I am sure there has to be more to it than that?

anyone care to help me through this?

someone else was able to convert the same light to LED on this site, however I have no clue what he did

Now that is different.

I've heard some people placed the SmJLED in a bi pin socket and direct drove it with 2 AA batteries. You can probably try this with a normal 5mm or 3mm white LED(you might have to remove the reflector though).

Cutdown and Uncut

The cutdown one will focus better with a reflector.

There is also this drop-in but I'm not sure that it will work.
