Well, I received a 3w Noma flashlight many months ago and it hardly receives any use. It takes 4 AAA batteries in a cartridge, with both + and - terminals on the top. It's just a series connection, so 6 volts to the driver.

Does anyone have experience messing around with this light? I'm wondering if it's a good candidate for experimenting with other emitters, betteries, and drivers. It's got a decent amount of space, but I haven't taken the last piece out yet - the block of aluminum inside the tube, so I have no idea what driver design it uses.

It's got an optic but the stock beam isn't that great. Perhaps I need to tidy up the plastic and try repositioning it again.

Pics are *here*.

A Seoul mod might work. It doesn't seem that hard to swap out the Luxeon for a Seoul. The Cree won't work well with the optic.

As for how the light is itself, I don't know.
