I dont think that you will get more throw, because the SSC P7 is made
for more throw than sidespill, when you llok at the mods, that has done
until this time...:shakehead

But it will be much more brighter than before...:tinfoil:

larger die size -> larger spot
same intensity -> same throw

with a larger spot you have less throw with the same reflector,or?:confused:

I'm not sure how the reflector would work with the P7 but as BBL mentioned above, the larger die size of P7 is harder to focus into a tighter intense beam. and Its the intensity/Lux of the hotspot that determines the throw of the light so if both lights have the same intensity/lux but S7 has a larger hotspot then u'll be able to see a larger area at the same distance away but they would both appear equal in brightness...

i think, as you said to, the SSC P7 has a larger die size an so you have
much more brightness at the same distance, but you will not have much
more throw...

hmmm you could be rights....just look here, more spot but not more throw

Yeah...you'll probably need a properly designed reflector or a bigger/deeper one to make it a thrower...but it should be nice when they start pumping them out and selling them...the output of the 3 or 4 cree lights with the throw of DBS,raidfire spear etc.

...but then theres still the heat issue as well as the higher power consumption. So running it at lower current should be more practical
