Does removing the resistor from the tailcup will affect the performance of the reactor 3?
Would it burn for a shorter period of time on peak brightness?

Yup. Potentially VERY short lifetime, as in terminal. Depending on cells used, currents over 1500 mA are easily possible.

Consider that the maker forbids Li cells, a much more modest 'overdrive' than you suggest.

The Reactors have no heatsinks past the small 'PCB' the LED is attached to. And there's a lot of plastic in the way of the heat getting out. IMO the design is marginal WRT heat as designed, 'hot rodding it' doesn't seem all that wise.

Or so it seems to me.

It is not going to work for a long periods of time.
I am interested in the runtime of the light in peak brightness compared to the runtime with the reactor.

Thanks
